Exceptional Achievement of our students ensures they make better progress compared to others nationally.
We are proud to congratulate our class of 2022 students at Ormiston Venture Academy as they continued the trend of previous years in making outstanding progress in their KS4 subjects despite the significant disruption that the Covid Pandemic caused to their education. We don’t list the results from 2020 and 2021 as we acknowledge the way exams were awarded in this period was not through the sitting of terminal exams and had a different methodology that makes comparisons difficult, however in this period our students continued to achieve at the same high standards we have come to expect in other years. We are extremely proud of the resilience and determination our students show in achieving these outcomes. This achievement is possible due to Venture’s culture of high aspirations where purposeful and exciting learning is happening every minute of the day and unwavering belief in every child.

In 2022 our students have secured excellent progress to ensure that they are able to secure exciting futures. The rigorous and personalised curriculum ensures that students are making substantial progress in all years and has continued to have a further impact every year as seen below. Alongside this the attainment scores of pupils reflects the higher overall grades our students are achieving throughout the curriculum.

In 2022 just as in 2019 in the basics measure (students gaining both English and Mathematics) our students achieved record results that were above the national average. In 2020 and 2021, despite the disruption caused and a different process for awarding grades, we are proud that students maintained a consistent level of high achievement.

2022 saw our students achieve a record basics score of 72% 4+ in both English and Maths. Achievement in the individual subjects was also our highest ever. In English, an incredible 81% achieved a Grade 4 or higher and more than two thirds (68%) secured a Grade 5 or better. In Maths, 76% of students achieved a Grade 4 or higher, and 50% gained a Grade 5 or above.

Sophie Long
Sophie only joined Venture in Year 9 from another local school but settled in quickly and excelled in her time at Venture. Sophie was the Deputy Head Girl for the Union of Venture Students, where she showed her determination and resilience to make positive changes and get things done on behalf of the student body. These qualities were clearly also a driving force behind achieving an incredible nine grades 8 or above
Bethany Coulson
Bethany achieved some incredible results that will rank amongst the very top in the country including achieving grade 9s in five subjects. Bethany was a brilliant example of how hard work and a passion for your subject can lead to phenomenal achievements, we are very proud of how she has overcome her learning barriers, excelling in every way.
Aref Shafei
Aref is the perfect example of how to balance being committed to sport, academic studies and most importantly to being a kind, good natured young man. Aref represented the county at basketball, often agreed to take on the roll of Vinny the Venture Raptor to support the team spirit at Venture and his popularity with peers and staff alike saw him crowned Prom King in 2019. In addition to this he left the academy having achieved eight grades 7 and above and some incredible individual progress scores. We are not only proud of his outstanding achievements but will always see him as a part of our Venture family.
